GurVichaar is a non-commercial educational platform. By using it you agree to these terms.

Beta version

GurVichaar is currently a beta (trial) version. Despite careful checking, the site may still contain mistakes — in text, translations, transliteration, dates, history, images or in how something is presented. Any such error is unintentional, and no disrespect to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the Gurus, the Sikh Panth, any Gurdwara Sahib or any person is ever intended. If anything appears wrong or hurts sentiments, please tell us and we will review and correct it promptly.

On matters of Sikh belief and conduct, Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the Sikh Rehat Maryada published by the SGPC are authoritative. GurVichaar’s explanations are for learning and understanding; they are not edicts, and where they differ from the official text, the official text prevails. Gurbani text and scholarly translations are reproduced from BaniDB (Khalis Foundation) with credit.

Gurdwara information (*T&C)

Details shown for Gurdwaras — including history, addresses, phone numbers, websites, accommodation (sarai / yatri niwas), langar, opening times, photographs, map positions and travel notes such as corridor or visa status — are compiled from official websites, published sources, Wikimedia Commons and OpenStreetMap volunteers. They may be incomplete, out of date or approximate. Always check availability and Gurdwara Sahib information directly with the Gurdwara management or on other official platforms before you travel, book or donate. GurVichaar is not affiliated with, and does not act for, any Gurdwara management or committee and accepts no responsibility for bookings, travel or decisions made on the basis of this information. Photographs are credited to their authors and licences; if you are a rights-holder or a Gurdwara management and want something changed or removed, please contact us.

Dates and live content

Gurpurab and festival dates follow the SGPC Nanakshahi calendar and are marked confirmed or calculated; local Gurdwaras may observe different dates. Live Hukamnama, Kirtan audio and video are provided by BaniDB and the SGPC and may occasionally be unavailable.

Respect for Gurbani

Gurbani is sacred. Please quote it with its reference and treat it with respect. Gurbani itself belongs to the Panth and is not owned by GurVichaar.

Our content

GurVichaar’s explanations, lessons and design may be shared for personal, educational and non-commercial use with attribution and a link. Third-party translations and commentaries remain the property of their rights-holders and are used with permission as described in our Sources & Editorial Policy.
